Overview
Connecting Salesforce to Common Room lets you combine signal data with your CRM to expand pipeline, accelerate deals, and prioritize the right accounts.
The integration is bi-directional:
- Inbound (Salesforce → Common Room): Pull Lead status, lifecycle stage, account ownership, and other CRM context onto contacts and organizations in your Room.
- Outbound (Common Room → Salesforce): Push signal activity, qualification status, and engagement context to Leads, Contacts, and Accounts so sellers can see who's engaged and qualified directly in Salesforce.
Availability
The Salesforce integration is included on all plans
Preparation
Before you start, make sure you have:
A Common Room admin who is also a Salesforce admin. If you aren't a Salesforce admin yourself, invite your Salesforce admin to your Common Room — they'll be granted Admin permissions and can complete the integration. Your Salesforce org also needs to be on a plan that includes API access ( Salesforce documentation).
A dedicated Salesforce integration user (recommended). Using a service account that isn't tied to an individual employee makes the integration easier to maintain — for example, when team members change roles or leave the company. The user should have:
- License: Salesforce Integration license (or full Salesforce license)
- Object permissions: Read/Write/ViewAll on Lead, Contact, Account, Opportunity, and Campaign
- System permissions: Access Activities
